Level 1 Mathematics
Once we believe a student is well prepared for the CAA (Common Assessment Activity) he will move onto the following maths modules, and then to a full Level 2 course.

NCEA Level 1 Mathematics is a 20 Credit course with four achievement standards each worth 5 credits.
Two of the standards are externally assessed. We don't teach these standards at Auckland Sports College as they do not prepare students sufficiently well for Level 2 and Level 3 mathematics.

Number and Algebra

- relate rate of change to the gradient of a graph.
- Pythagoras’ theorem in right-angled triangles in 2D and 3D situations

- volume of pyramids, cones, spheres, and composite shapes including prisms.
